Coffee Talk

and before you know it ... 3 months have gone by ... I conquered the torturous class cleverly disguised as "creative writing" (most everybody I know heard about that in person, so I won't revisit the pain). I will share that I came out of there with an A and was pleasantly surprised to do so in light of the confrontations with the instructor. I've graduated, passed the certification test, school (Jr Hi) is out for summer, I'm still in one Bible class that will end in three weeks. I had a birthday & Meghan did too - she's now 20 and has moved back home so she can go to school for summer sessions. Molly is already disgustingly tan.

Anyway - now it's summer. Stay up late - sleep late - coffee on the back porch - lots of reading (for fun-not for testing) - apply for teaching jobs - the bed actually gets made in the morning - the house is cleaner - I have a list of "things I want to do to the house" which, sadly, require funding. I have none of that, so will have to be innovative.

I went in to make coffee this morning and was greeted with a sink full of dirty dishes. It occurred to me that I personally used only one fork, one cup, one glass, and a plate all day yesterday - yet the sink is full of dishes. I left the coffee gurgling, came in to open the computer and long neglected blog page intending to write about my irritation with the fact that nobody can seem to maneuver that short distance from sink to dishwasher. When I returned to the kitchen for coffee I reached in the cabinet for a mug and, lo...what should I bring out but the one that is white - with only the word "whining" surrounded by a big red circle and marked through with a red slash ... the international symbol for "no". Harumph! Who knew God talked to us through mug-ware... that's a little tricky, don't you think?

I'm still working through the relativity of life's 'downs' ... but know there is much to be thankful for.

x Whining
